If you know Wale, he’s often grappling with the treacherous journey of finding “the one.” Look no further than tracks like “The Matrimony,” “Lotus Flower Bomb,” or “My PYT,” and you’ll be sure to Folarin pouring his heart out while detailing his experiences with love. The D.C. native is slated to appear on the next episode of Red Table Talk (Feb. 25). Billboard obtained an exclusive clip that finds Wale being pressed by Jada Pinkett-Smith about the qualities he desires in a woman.
“I want a woman to show me what a want in a woman. Women, I believe, their intuition is strong than men’s,” he starts, before quickly being interrupted by a puzzled Jada and Willow Smith, who both question if his answer was some form of a cop-out. “So you want a woman to be the unlocker of your soul?” Willow asks.
“Y’all didn’t let me finish,” Wale continues in an almost singing voice. “Be my friend, for real. Loyalty is very important and understanding because I am not a regular man, for better or worse. My bad is bad, [but] my good is amazing,” the 34-year-old father of one concludes to the approval of the rest at the table.
Folarin season is nearly upon us, as Wale announced at the top of the week that he plans to turn in his album within the next two weeks, which would pit the “Bad” rhymer to release his Shine follow-up during the second quarter of 2019.
