Wale is looking to heat up the summer after rolling out back-to-back tracks like “Her Wave” and the Phil Ade-assisted “Reminisce.”
Meek Mill, Wale & Rick Ross Fire Out ‘Make It Work’
For the first cut, the wavy track — which samples past collaborator Miguel’s “Waves” — features a crooning Wale, who sings to his special lady “Don’t give my love away.”
The jazzy “Reminisce” features a nostalgic Wale lyrically flexing as fellow DMV rep Phil Ade lends his vocals to the track.
Wale has been putting in work for his forthcoming studio effort Shine (Still Here Ignoring Negative Energy), on which he says he takes a more melodic approach. “It’s a little bit more melody and shit ’cause I been on some, like, I don’t want to call nobody to do my hooks no more,” he told Billboard in March. “I want to do it myself but just as an evolution as an artist.”
