After moving up the release date for his fifth studio effort Shine and gifting fans the album in April, Wale has been dodging any hateration about first-week numbers and shining his own way. For his latest music video for the Spanglish track “Colombia Heights (Te Llamo)”, Wale teams up with reggaeton star J Balvin.
Taking the name from a neighborhood in Wale’s native Washington, D.C., “Colombia Heights” finds the street poet flexing his Spanish bars. “Te Llamo No Bueno, FaceTime with your woman/ She Puerto Rican but she speak-y Brooklyn,” he offers on the first verse. “Mira mami tranquila, Mira mami tranquila/ Meet up then kick you feet up, relájate conmigo.”
