After releasing his socially conscious EP There’s Alot Going On last June, Chicago lyricist Vic Mensa returns with more heat on his latest project The Manuscript.
Kicking off with Pharrell’s unmistakable four-count start, “OMG” finds Mensa “fresh out the cell to the booth” and stunting about his lifestyle (receiving 30 bands for a 15-minute set, 50-carat grill in his mouth and Roc Nation signing) plus a “F–k Bill O’Reilly” call-out. King Push comes alive for Verse 3 with his signature street savvy.
Elsewhere on the capsule, Mensa taps producer Mr. Hudson for the opener “Almost There,” then floats over the intoxicating “Rollin’ Like a Stoner” and gives the real on the blazing finale “Rage.”
Bump The Manuscript below and be on the lookout for his full-length debut arriving this summer.
