VH1’s upcoming Mother’s Day special Dear Mama: An Event to Honor Moms will include a tribute from Robin Thicke to his own momma. The singer joins previously announced hosts, Black-ish star Anthony Anderson and entrepreneur La La Anthony.
Last October, Thicke released the politically charged track “Deep” featuring Nas. His 2013 hit “Blurred Lines” featuring Pharrell and T.I. also topped the Billboard Hot 100 for 12 weeks. Thicke’s mother is Gloria Loring, best known for her role as Liz Chandler on Days of Our Lives.
Pasadena’s Huntington Library and Botanical Gardens in California will host VH1’s second annual Mother’s Day special, executive produced by Queen Latifah’s Flavor Unit and Jesse Collins Entertainment.
Dear Mama airs May 8 on VH1 at 10 p.m. ET/PT.
