After initially leaking online last month, Usher and Ella Mai’s sultry “Don’t Waste My Time” collaboration hit all streaming platforms on Friday (Dec. 13). The sensual track finds the R&B pair having no time for games and explaining how they want to get right to the point when it comes to their love life.
“Your?vibe’s?amazing/ Feel the love?in the air, baby, you know?(You know, you know)/ In a rush, we be letting the time go/ You’re gonna have to show me now/ ‘Cause I done had one too many drinks/ And I know that you feel me the way I been feelin’ you,” Usher croons over the Jermaine Dupri and Bryan-Michael Cox production.
The British singer detailed working with Usher when speaking with Billboard on the red carpet at the 2019 American Music Awards. “I’m still trying to take it in. I’m still reading in my notes where it says, ‘Usher featuring Ella Mai,'” she said. “The day after I got back from tour [with Ariana Grande], I went in the studio with him. It was great energy. It made no sense, he was super-excited for me to be there. I’m like, ‘You know you’re Usher, right?'”
