The USA Network is gearing up to launch their latest scripted crime series later this month. Unsolved: The Murders of Tupac and The Notorious B.I.G. will give viewers a behind the scenes look at the questions still surfacing about Tupac (Marcc Rose) and Biggie Smalls‘ (Wavyy Jonez) murders even two decades later.
The 10-episode series will premiere Feb. 27 at 10 p.m. ET on USA Network. Anthony Hemingway, who also directed The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story, spearheaded the project, while handling both director and executive producer roles alongside his partner, Mark Taylor.
Unsolved attempts to dissect the complicated relationship that led to both legendary rappers being killed within six months of each other. The Kyle Long-created limited series also delves into the faulty investigations led by Los Angeles Police Department detectives.
There is no denying that the hip-hop culture’s landscape shifted after the icons’ untimely deaths. Ultimately, the question at hand is: with how powerful U.S. law enforcement can be, how do these brutal murders remain unsolved all these years later?
