As UFC legend Ronda Rousey preps for her comeback match against Amanda Nunes, G-Eazy teams up with the Toronto-based female artist Dana for the “Vengeance On My Mind” music promo.
The Bay Area rapper’s rhymes compliments Dana’s gritty vocals as he spits on the pump-up anthem: “The road less traveled is the high road/ I been knocked down, but every time I rose/’ Cause I can move a mountain with my bare hands/ Just need a fair chance, I never let ’em down/ I never settled down, I came to get the crown.” The collaboration was made possible by WME|IMG, who connected client G-Eazy wih UFC, who also hopped on-board the agency’s roster earlier this year.
Written and produced by Jingle Punks’ president and CCO Jared Gutstadt along with Grammy Award-winning singer/songwriter Poo Bear, the black-and-white visual teases Rousey’s highly anticipated return, featuring clips of the fighter in the ring.
“The partnership between one of fastest growing sport brands in the world and the hottest hip-hop artist in the game represents the passion and drive you need to be able to achieve greatness,” said Gutstadt in a statement to Billboard. “This kick-ass track sets the tone for one of the most anticipated fights of the year.”
Rousey will face Nunes at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada for UFC 207 on Dec. 30.
