Tyler, the Creator won’t be touring Australia after all. Though the rapper has plans to use that extra time freed up in his diary. He’s keen to collaborate with Zayn Malik.
Tyler tweeted the former One Direction singer overnight with an open offer for the pair to get together and make music.

He wrote, in all-caps: “HI @zaynmalik. I HAVE BEAUTIFUL INSTRUMENTALS AND YOU HAVE A VOICE LETS FIGURE THIS OUT MY GUY . EPIC ALBUM CUTS THO NO RADIO.”
It’s something of an about-face for Tyler, who bashed 1D with his guest slot on Odd Future bandmate Earl Sweatshirt’s “Sasquatch.”
Zayn, of course, has since left his four 1D buddies behind and is pursuing a solo career (he recently signed with Turn First Artists management and RCA Records). At the time of writing, however, Zayn hasn’t responded to Tyler’s suggestion. And he hasn’t got back to labelmate Chris Brown, who reportedly wants to work with his “homeboy.”

Meanwhile, Tyler won’t have to make a long haul flight Down Under next month. The Australia leg of his Cherry Bomb World Tour has been canceled amidst protests led by Collective Shout, which campaigns against the objectification of women and sexualization of girls.
The trek’s promoter, Frontier Touring, has announced the visit has been scrapped with an accompanying message from Tyler: “We would much rather come to Australia when it isn’t surrounded in controversy. I love my fans there and hopefully I’ll be back soon. Don’t do drugs.”
Tyler, the Creator Hasn’t been Refused Entry Into Australia
Tyler’s Australia tour was due to kick off Sept. 3 at The Tivoli in Brisbane before visiting Sydney, Melbourne and concluding Sept. 8 at Perth’s The Capitol.
The status of those four shows has been anything but clear since Tyler tweeted last month that he’d been “banned from Australia,” and blamed Collective Shout’s director of operations, Coralie Alison, for his predicament. Frontier Touring later confirmed the artist hadn’t been denied the requisite visa and that the tour would go ahead.
Collective Shout tweeted the latest news, which it described as a “win.” Frontier Touring had no additional comment when Billboard reached out to ask whether federal Immigration Minister Peter Dutton had decided to deny the artist entry.
Tyler has performed in Australia on various occasions both as a solo artist and with his Odd Future collective. The controversy surrounding his just-scrapped dates are nothing new. In 2013, Collective Shout urged authorities to remove Tyler’s visa citing the rapper’s hateful lyrics against women. The following year, Odd Future was blocked from entering neighboring New Zealand after it was decided the L.A. outfit posed a threat to public order.
