Tyler, the Creator has shared a “rough draft” of a new song called “Rose Tinted Cheeks.” Described on Twitter as “a song I never finished or went back to,” Tyler explained that it’s an outtake from his last album, Flower Boy.
“Rose Tinted Cheeks” is the third of a series of standalone tracks Tyler has released over the last few months, following March’s “OKRA” and April’s remix of Trouble and Drake’s “Bring it Back.” This tune, which Tyler says is “not really mixed or anything,” is nonetheless hooky and appealingly sparse and features a goofy falsetto guide vocal from Tyler that was apparently meant for “a girl who can actually sing” to replace it. Elsewhere, you’ll hear heart-on-sleeve rhymes like “I’m sorry/ I know I’m annoying/ I just want your attention,” and a reference to the film 20th Century Women.
