Fans have been clamoring for Ty Dolla $ign‘s upcoming sophomore album, Beach House 3, since he first teased the project back in 2016. Since then, anticipation for the project has only intensified after dropping the Lil Wayne and The-Dream-assisted “Love U Better” and the recent “So Am I” featuring Damian Marley and Skrillex. But, finally, on Wednesday (Sept. 20), Dolla $ign officially announced that BH3 will be released on Oct. 27 via Atlantic, gifting fans with two new songs off the 20-track album.
Dolla $ign also unveiled BH3’s artwork, which an image of an island shaped like the letters T, D, S to represent the singer’s name.
For “Dawsin’s Breek,” one of the two new tracks Dolla $ign released, he tapped a feature from Jeremih and Mike WiLL Made-It on production as incessant drum machine strikes move throughout the uptempo beat. While the title suggests the song may be about ’90s drama series Dawson’s Creek, Dolla $ign and Jeremih sing mostly about their luxury car inventory.
“I got a brand new coupe/ I got a brand new ‘Rari/ I got a brand new boo/ I put my bitch in park,” the Bay Area artist says.
Dolla $ign also dropped “Message in a Bottle,” soulful, slow-burning earworm about his wild partying lifestyle.
“I record a lot, you know? I probably have about four, five Beach House 3’s in my computer right now but I had to put the best of the best into one,” he told Billboard before his set at the Hot 100 Fest in August. “Quality over quantity for sure when it comes to the Dolla.”
