Trippie Redd returns with his first official single of 2019 with “Under Enemy Arms” on Wednesday (May 29). Prior to hitting streaming services, the horn-tinged track premiered as Zane Lowe’s World Record on Beats 1. Trippie previously teased the effort on several occasions online and debuted “Under Enemy Arms” during his performance at the Beale Street Music Festival in Memphis earlier in May.
The Ohio native touches on the healing process of trying to move on from his previous relationship. “Show no emotions, I live in the dark/ I don’t know why but that bitch left me scarred/ I don’t know why you just ain’t play your part/ Now you focused on wishing me harm/ Fuck it, right to bear arms,” he raps.
Trippie relayed to Zane Lowe that he’s working on a separate project with Travis Barker and his own solo album at the moment, which is tentatively titled !. “It’s pretty much done,” the 19-year-old shared of his album. “I’ve pretty much got the concepts for lots of videos and shit. I’m trying to be visual with this one. Right now, I’m just finishing up little features and stuff. I got to go pick up on The Game later and probably have him on it. I got Carti on it — Playboi Carti.”
