Profanity-laced footage Trey Songz posted on his Snapchat may be used in his assault trial.
According to CBS Detroit, a Wayne County Circuit Court judge granted the motion during his pre-trial hearing Tuesday to present the still photos and video, which include the singer saying “F— the police.”
In December, Songz (real name Tremaine Neverson) was charged with aggravated assault and assaulting a police officer. During a rowdy concert appearance in Detroit, the singer allegedly threw equipment from the stage at Detroit’s Joe Louis Arena and punched a police sergeant after his mic was cut off for apparently exceeding his time. He was then arrested and released on a $25,000 bail.
The 32-year-old singer declined a plea offer in February that would have reduced the felony assault charge to a misdemeanor. He is reportedly awaiting his next court date while his trial has been scheduled for Sept. 12.
Songz’ rep offered no comment.
