Travis Scott‘s ex-managers are suing the rapper for allegedly failing to pay the $2 million the company claims he owes them.
The lawsuit filed by LCAR Management — the company belonging to YouTube’s head of global music partnerships, Lyor Cohen — allege that Scott signed a three-year contract in October 2014. Sources close to Scott independently confirmed the lawsuit to Billboardand say that while Scott signed the agreement in good faith, he felt they did not do their job.
Court documents obtained by TMZ reportedly state that the deal guaranteed the management company 15 percent of Scott’s entertainment earnings. LCAR Management says it has made attempts to collect the compensation since 2015 but was served with a letter from Scott’s attorneys reportedly saying “their services were no longer needed.” The company is seeking an account of his earnings and full payment.
“It’s absurd that Cohen — who also happens to be the head of global music for YouTube — would file such a frivolous lawsuit,” the source adds.
A rep for Lyor Cohen was not immediately available for comment.
