In April 2017, rumors quickly swirled regarding a budding romance between Travis Scott and Kylie Jenner. After they were first spotted together at a Coachella party, the starry twosome caused a frenzy on social media when they attended a Houston Rockets playoff game later that month. Fast-forward through their matching tattoos, surprise birthday parties, gaudy gifts, and their elusiveness pertaining to Kylie’s pregnancy, the two finally hushed zealous skeptics with the announcement of their first child, Stormi, this past February.
With Travis Scott blooming into a perennial fixture in music with his creativity, it was a only matter of time before he spoke on all the ethereal moments about his love life and of course, his baby mama. On his third album, Astroworld, Scott gushes about Kylie being a “trophy,” their steamy sex-life, while also explaining some of the turbulence they faced during their one-year relationship.
Check out all the probable Kylie Jenner references on Astroworld, out today (Aug. 3), below.
“Stargazing”
“But she know my baby mama is a trophy
She be throwing up them B’s feel like we both bleed”
Not only is Kylie Jenner on the cusp of eclipsing the illustrious billion dollar mark with her series of businesses, the 20-year-old has caught the eye of many rappers with her beauty, most notably, 21 Savage and her ex-beau, Tyga. Before Jenner waved her goodbyes to the “Taste” MC, they were an item for 18 months.
“She keep my dick jumpin up, feel like I’m Moby”
Though the lyric is witty and vulgar all at the same time, Scott has no issue gloating about his sex-life with his “trophy” of a woman, Kylie Jenner. He also skillfully references the legendary whale Moby Dick, which was the name of Herman Melville’s 1851 novel.
“Skeletons” Feat. The Weeknd?
“We just rocked Coachella, I gave her half of the check
It was good sex, honorable mention to the net”
As previously mentioned in the introduction, Kylie and Travis were first spotted together at Coachella, the famed music festival based out in California. Though they attempted to debunk any rumors about their fiery connection, photos almost never lie.
In their recent GQ cover, Kylie goes in-depth about their Coachella hang-out and how it served as the catalyst for their burgeoning relationship.
“Coachella was one of the stops on his tour. So he said, ‘I’m going back on tour — what do we want to do about this?’ Because we obviously liked each other,” she says. “And I was like, ‘I guess I’m going with you.’” She continues, “I really jumped on the bus. And then we rode off into the sunset. I did the whole tour with him…we weren’t going out as ‘Kylie and Trav.’ We would just be in Cleveland, walking the street for hours. We would go on walks, and no one would bother us.”
“Wake Up” Featuring The Weeknd
“Say you was in the crowd, I never looked
Looking back how things came back around
Guess I was hooked
Burn the bread and then we burn the town
We both was cooked.”
While Travis has proven to be a precocious creator in the studio with his robust melodies, he always shied away from delving into anything personal lyrically. On “Wake Up,” Travis is able to swim inside his inner feelings and express both his sexual and emotional desires for Kylie. In the same interview with GQ, he conveys some threads of emotion regarding his love life when he admits that, “Kylie actually likes me for me” and that “Kylie is different.”
“Coffee Bean”
“Your family told you I’m a bad move
Plus I’m already a black dude
Leavin’ the bathroom, my hands is half-rinsed
If only a n—a just had sense.”
For this outro, Scott bares it all about his highly-publicized relationship with Jenner. In the opening verse, Scott ruminates on how Kylie’s family initially reportedly had several qualms about her dating the G.O.O.D. Music star. From his rowdy reputation, to even his skin color, Scott admits to feeling a bit insecure about her family’s reservations.
“It’s been a week and a half since
We ain’t been speaking in mad mins
You feeling free in my absence
I’ve been going through a lot behind this glass tint, yeah.”
Fights are normal in a relationship. In this case, Scott speaks about a possible previous argument that kept him and Kylie at a distance. In their GQ cover story, Kylie highlights a fight they once had, in what later prompted her to fly to Scott’s hometown of Houston to resolve everything. “It wasn’t even about anything really specific. I was just overwhelmed. I just flew to Houston to see him for a few hours…just because we’re a family now,” she says.
She also explains how most of their fights originate. “When we fight, it’s usually just because we’ve been away from each other for too long and we didn’t see each other for like two weeks. And we have Stormi now, and I can’t travel with her. She’s too young. So it’s harder to see each other, but I was like, I just need to go and fix this and go back.”
