Leg two of the Astroworld Tour invaded Travis Scott’s hometown of Houston on Wednesday, and it was a special night for those lucky enough to be in the Toyota Center. Outside of having their own Jambaworld Jamba Juice station, Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner hit the stage prior to La Flame ending the show with “SICKO MODE” to make a couple of major announcements.
Turner presented Scott with a key to the city for his banner year and contributions giving back to H-Town. “We owe so much to this guy for keeping Houston on the map,” the mayor stated, with his daughter also joining him.
The 26-year-old shared a smile, but there was even more good news on the way, as Scott’s dreams of bringing back Astroworld’s joy would soon be a reality. “With ‘Astroworld,’ man, and those of us that remember Astroworld, and because of him, we’re gonna bring another amusement theme park back to the city,” Turner declared, much to the delight of the capacity Houston crowd. “This city loves you.”
If you recall, Scott forecasted plans to revive his childhood theme park on Astroworld opener “Stargazing.” “’99, took AstroWorld, it had to relocate/ Told the dogs I’d bring it back, it was a seal of faith,” Cactus Jack prophesied.
