Back in February, Towkio set out on a mission to fly 100,000 feet in the air to drop his debut album and delivered on his promise. On Thursday (May 10), Towkio finds himself back in space, but this time he’s a lonely Astronaut trying his hardest to come to terms with the demise of his relationship in the visual for “Morning View” featuring SZA.
As the mellow, airy melody creeps in, Towkio is seen wandering around space. In one scene, the rapper is seated, holding on to a photo of a lover who he misses. Towkio begins to take an unknown pill, seemingly trying to find a way to cope with his heartbreak, as he re-watches videos of his girlfriend. Throughout the visual, Towkio seems dejected and by the time the video ends, we know why: it’s been nearly a year since Towkio received any recent messages from his lady.
After returning from space, Towkio spoke with Billboard to discuss his album, including the SZA-assisted track “Morning View,” which he says couldn’t have happened at a better time.
“It was an aligning of our moments and our frequencies because we’re kind of on the same page,” he says. “I thought the project was gonna drop last year, but it’s 2018 now. Everything happens how it’s supposed to. Her tremendous energy just took over this year, and god willing my shit will do the same thing.”
