Tory Lanez has a heavy dose of nostalgia ready for 2000s R&B aficionados. Being a student of the game, Lanez flipped a bunch of 2000s classics to fill up his Chixtape 5 project, which hit streaming services on Friday (Nov. 15).
The 18 tracks see Tory putting his own spin on Ashanti’s “Foolish,” T-Pain‘s “I’m Sprung,” Chris Brown‘s “Take You Down,” and he even pits himself alongside Lloyd and Lil Wayne for a “You” rework. Snoop Dogg, Ludacris and Fabolous also appear on the decorated guest list.
“Everything is 2000s-inspired,” Lanez relayed to Billboard. “Everything is inspired by the times when things were golden for us. I think all those pieces and everything that we’ve come out with has been all about nostalgia. I’m about to take you on a whole journey musically.”
