As a group, Migos are well-known for their extravagant ways, so why would you expect anything different for Quavo‘s first solo TV performance? Serving up a high-concept set on The Tonight Show on Thursday night (Oct. 4), one-third of the Atlanta rap crew delivered a medley of “Lamb Talk/Working Me” as a preview of his debut solo album Quavo Huncho, due out Oct. 12.
Showered in designer wear and diamonds from head to toe, Quavo showed off his glittering grillz and took production to the next level by kicking off his performance inside a neon-green frame in the shape of a sports car. The see-through frame hinted at Quavo’s Lamborghini-filled music video for “Lamb Talk” — creating an amazing effect on stage and giving the rapper an extra bossy touch.
Delivering his signature triplet rhymes, the MC rapped, “Bad mouth/ Rag talk/ Bring that cash out/ These bitches ass out/ Who gon’ back down?/ We can’t back down/ Bodybag now/ Toe tag now.”
Four women then walked on stage, also wearing sporty neon-green clothing, with one of them opening the frame’s door to let Quavo out, as he then rolled into “Working Me” while the women danced around him waving white towels.
Rhyming over the sultry beat, Quavo stunted with the lyrics, “Workin’ me, she workin’ me/ Urgin’ me, it be urgin’ me/ Just let up the top and close the curtain please/ I decided to go up like Major League/ She just popped the perky just like pork and beans/ She just popped the perky, say I hurt her knees/ She hurtin’ me, wrist strong, Hercules.”
