After locking in the studio with Nonstop for a session, the groovy uptempo production initially caught the ear of the Georgia native. “‘Mine’ was just a typical night in the studio for me. Nonstop and I were going through a ton of beats and this one stood out for me the most, just how it was so different from the rest,” TK tells Billboard.
Kravitz is forever grateful to Gates for hopping on “Mine,” allowing their contrasting styles to seamlessly mesh throughout the joint effort. “Kevin [Gates] is like a brother, and him agreeing to do the record meant a lot to me,” he explains. “I just knew that he could bring a different kind of melody to go along with what we already had put together on the single.”
