After earning a Grammy nomination in the best spoken word category for narrating her memoir The Last Black Unicorn and doing some singing in Lego Movie 2, Tiffany Haddish is ready to give music a shot. During a sit-down with GLAMOUR last week, the multi-faceted entertainer revealed that she is working on her debut album.
“I’m working on an album! Granted, most of this album has already happened in my head, but that’s how it starts. It all starts in here and then it comes out and I’ve been talking to people,” the comedian-actress told the magazine, adding that the Grammy nomination affirmed her desire to chase the dream. “I’m going to see what happens. It might be really great, it might not but who cares, right? You’ve got to give it a shot.”
Haddish went on to profess her dream to have Cardi B join her on a few tracks and laid out a few options for potential album titles. “It will probably be the She Ready album or The She Ready Experience or The We Ready Album. Whatever, it’s going to be ready,” the Girls Trip star claimed.
The 39-year-old then admitted that Drake and his father both slid into her DMs at different times. Haddish starred in Drizzy’s “Nice for What” video, but wished their conversations would have led to the 6 God taking her out to dinner. “So, I did his music video and I thought, ‘oh maybe something might happen, you know!’ I was like, ‘are you gonna take me to dinner?’ He said, ‘yeah we could eat dinner,’ and then I never heard from him again,” Tiff detailed of her experience with the OVO frontman.
