
After being a no-show at this year’s Grammy Awards, Lauryn Hill surprised fans by joining The Weeknd during his recent performance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

Halfway through belting out his single “In the Night,” The Weeknd brought out Hill to assist him during Friday night’s episode of the Tonight Show. Watch the collaboration below.
The 26-year-old singer later reflected on performing alongside Hill. “Most important experience of my life. Thank you Ms. Hill,” he tweeted.

The Weeknd and Hill were scheduled to perform “In the Night” together at the Grammys on Feb. 15, Recording Academy president Neil Portnow said. But a rep from Hill’s camp said organizers “announced a performance by Ms. Lauryn Hill prematurely and without approval.”
The Weeknd still held his own with renditions of his hits “In the Night” — which peaked at No. 12 on the Billboard 200 — and his chart-topping smash “Can’t Feel My Face.”
