After weeks of anticipation, A$AP Mob’s second-in-command, A$AP Ferg, lets loose the remix to his breakout song,“Work.” The remix features verses from French Montana, Trinidad James, ScHoolboy Q, and of course, A$AP Rocky. The song’s accompanying video, premiered on May 14, has amassed close to 840,000 YouTube views. “Work” has been bubbling under R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay for a couple of weeks and will likely make its way onto the chart as the remix picks up momentum on-air.
The Wu-Tang Clan made headlines on a couple of fronts this past week. First, the rap collective, which is celebrating the 20-year anniversary of its debut album “Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers)” this year, announced that it will be releasing a new set titled, “A Better Tomorrow,” in July. The Wu’s last studio album was 2007’s “8 Diagrams” which debuted and peaked at No. 9 on Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums.
The announcement that a hologram of Ol’ Dirty Bastard will be joining the Clan onstage at this year’s Rock the Bells festival heightened the buzz. And to top it all off, a previously-unreleased cut “from the personal vaults of the RZA” titled “Execution in Autumn” hit the internet. What a week for the Wu.
