Earlier this month, The LOX surprised hip-hop heads by announcing their first album in 16 years, Filthy America. After revealing the news of their new deal with Roc Nation, the New York trio released two singles, “Don’t Cry” and “What Else You Need to Know,” proving that their chemistry is still unmatched even after a lengthy hiatus. Jadakiss, Styles P and Sheek Louch continue their hot streak by unleashing their new video for “Don’t Cry.”
In the dark and gritty video, the LOX exude the same unflinching confidence that made them a genre staple in the ’90s. “Legend is a understatement/ Til they find your whole crew individually under basements/ You just run your block, we run the nation,” raps Jadakiss. Elsewhere in the clip, Styles pours gasoline on an innocent bystander, while spitting some fiery bars.
To double up their efforts, The LOX also released their new collaboration with Gucci Mane and Infared titled “Secure the Bag.” The hip-hop veterans fly through the trap-infused record, as they boast and brag about their street cred and fat wallets.
With The LOX set to release their new album this Friday (Dec. 16), it’s safe to say that they haven’t lost a step. Check out both offerings below.
