It’s a great week for new music in the R&B and rap realms.
This week, Jeezy released his studio album, Seen It All: The Autobiography, while another Def Jam Recordings artist, Jhene Aiko, unleashed a stream of her first major label debut, Souled Out, on iTunes.
For this week’s episode of The Juice Podcast, my Billboard colleagues Jason Lipshutz (Pop Shop editor and associate editor) and Steven Horowitz (associate editor) join me to discuss the evolution of Jeezy, Jhene Aiko’s Souled Out, and Ariana Grande‘s sophomore album, My Everything, which became her second Billboard 200 No. 1 album this week.
While Lipshutz goes off on a tangent of Jeezy’s Recession and Migos, Horowitz compares Aiko’s range to Cassie‘s. All three of us also break down the stand out tracks off My Everything and the features guests (A$AP Ferg, the Weeknd, Big Sean).
