After paying homage to late music icon Prince on the emotional tribute song “Rest In Purple,” Compton rapper The Game reveals that a collaboration with the Purple One nearly happened.
While on a shopping trip in Beverly Hills for a Prince party, Game told TMZ that the near-duet fell through because of a curse word.

“I wanted to get him on a song. He was down to do the song so we met at Doug Morris’ office at Universal a few years back,” he recalled in the video. “[Prince] heard the song and there was one curse word in it. He was like, ‘I can’t get on that. It has a curse word in it.’
The Game wasn’t salty about the failed collaboration nor could he remember the lyric. “He was with it but that’s the evolution of people in their lives,” the MC offered. “You get older wiser and Prince became a Jehovah’s Witness and he cut out all that. We didn’t do the song ’cause I needed that curse word.”
