The-Dream is still moving in support of his loaded 40-track Ménage à Trois: Sextape Vol. 1, 2, 3 triple-disc album, and the R&B veteran stopped by Hot 97 Friday (Jan. 25) for an all-encompassing interview with Ebro Darden.
The pair had a candid conversation that touched on the repercussions as a result of the Surviving R. Kelly docuseries, working with Kanye West and more — and he even hinted at new music coming from Beyoncé and Rihanna.
The versatile songwriter has collaborated with a number of greats of the years, and his history of working with RiRi dates back to 2007. When Ebro questioned The-Dream about Rihanna’s long-awaited album, he admitted that the project is near completion. “She’s cooking, she’s about done. She’s about done. Super close,” said the 41-year-old, but remained tight-lipped when pressed for any details.
Darden quickly shifted his focus to Beyoncé’s next possible venture, as the Atlanta-bred artist hinted at Bey working on some new music.
“She’s doing something. I actually haven’t talked to her about it — I’ve talked to the team about it because it’s kind of just being coordinated,” he indicated. “But she’s doing something.”
Earlier in the discussion, the “Falsetto” singer also recalled a basketball game during West’s Wyoming sessions that he suited up for alongside Travis Scott, Yeezy and Drake. He assured everyone that the vibes “were going good” before the relationship between Drizzy and West soured over the summer.
