Kelly Rowland and The-Dream are heading out on tour together. The co-headlining summer tour, Lights Out, kicks off in Kansas City on May 24 and wraps up in Chicago on June 23.
The 10 U.S. city-trek will promote both of the singer’s upcoming albums: The-Dream’s “IV Play” (May 28) and Kelly Rowland’s “Talk A Good Game” (June 18). They appear on each other’s full-length efforts which makes for the perfect co-headlining tour opportunity.
Earlier this month, The-Dream spoke with Billboard on the co-headlining tour and his friendship with Kelly. “We bonded over the holidays, in December,” he said. “We just became great friends. We are really similar in so many ways. Her and Bey’ are like sisters to me. We just bonded over songs. She’s on my album and I worked on two for her album, ‘Skywalker,’ and another I wrote for her, ‘Dirty Laundry,’ [which] has a lot of her insight and it’s pretty intense.”
The decision to tour together came naturally to both. “It was just a regular talk: ‘You gonna go? We should go do it together. We should go on tour,’” he continued.
