
Terrace Martin, one of Kendrick Lamar’s favorite producer/instrumentalists, has created a new musical collaboration called The Pollyseeds. Joining Martin in the band is a group of producers, musicians, songwriters and singers that includes Robert Glasper, Kamasi Washington, Marlon Williams, Robert “Sput” Searlight, Craig Brockman, Chachi, Rose Gold and Wyann Vaughn.
The Pollyseeds’ first release is the single “Intentions” featuring Chachi. It will appear on the group’s debut album The Sounds of Crenshaw Vol. 1, coming July 14 via Ropeadope.

Martin’s Velvet Portraits received a Grammy Award nomination last year for best R&B album. In addition to Lamar, Glasper and Washington, Martin has worked with Herbie Hancock, Snoop Dogg and YG.
