With Pharrell’s debut Something In The Water Festival heading to his hometown of Virginia Beach, Va. later this month (April 26-28), the multitalent has revealed a few more surprises up his sleeve. The festival announced on Tuesday (April 9) that Timbaland, N.E.R.D, Busta Rhymes and Fam-Lay will be joining Skateboard P’s ensemble of friends accompanying him on stage.
Something In The Water also adds some more star power to the highly anticipated weekend, as Chris Brown, Kap G, Charlie Wilson, and Amber Mark will each have their own sets during the festival. They join an already-stacked lineup of performers that already includes appearances from Diddy, Missy Elliott, Usher, Snoop Dogg, Travis Scott, Migos, J Balvin, SZA, Lil Uzi Vert, Diplo, and more.
The festival takes a page out of Kanye West’s book with a Sunday Service set of sorts for the final day (April 28) in what’s being billed as a Pop-Up Church Service held at noon ET on the peaceful beach sand by the ocean. The free of charge sermon welcomes all and will feature soulful performances from John P Kee, Kirk Franklin, Mary Mary, Tye Tribbett, Israel Houghton and The Warryn Campbell Band.
With Something In The Water just weeks away, the Virginia Beach City Council is still concerned about the public’s safety. Earlier in the month, the city held a meeting with the community to discuss the traffic, security, and transportation issues that come along with playing host to such a large event.
