SiR is gearing up to make his return with the Chasing Summer album at the end of the month (Aug. 30). Before it’s album time, the TDE artist connects with Top Dawg teammate Kendrick Lamar for the hazy “Hair Down,” which premiered over at Beats 1 on Thursday (Aug. 8). A music video for the confidence anthem also arrived at noon ET from the dynamic duo.
The Jack Begert-directed clip is filled with satire. The initial scene begins at The Forum in Los Angeles, where SiR is smoking weed in his post-game press conference and sharing joints with reporters. Even after scoring 60 points in the first half, he is surrounded by controversy over possibly failing a drug test for his marijuana use.
SiR then mocks an episode of TMZ Live under the namesake of TDE Live instead, which finds paparazzi photographing him after dropping some weed paraphernalia outside his Sprinter van by accident. Kung Fu Kenny’s face is hidden throughout his entire assist, as he dishes speedy rhymes from under his hood.
The November artist provided further detail regarding his Chasing Summer album that boasts “some crazy features” when speaking with Zane Lowe on Thursday. “I took my time with this and it shows in the work, and I’m ready to let everybody see what we’ve been working on, man,” the California native explained. “It’s a long time coming, so I’m definitely excited. I learned that the best thing I could ever do for myself is be honest in my music and be true to myself.”
