Before heading to practice on Tuesday (Oct. 1), NBA superstar Damian Lillard fired back at Shaquille O’Neal with a scathing “Reign Reign Go Away” diss track. The diss arrives on the heels of Shaq Diesel sniping Dame’s ability on the hardwood during a freestyle of his own to start the week (Sept. 30).
Lillard doesn’t hold back when ruthlessly going after The Big Aristotle. Dame makes sure his spot among the elite of the NBA’s hierarchy is cemented, as he boasts about the fresh $191 million max deal he just signed this summer. “Said that max was little, that $250 million crispy/ Can’t recall you getting that when I was cruising on the 10-speed,” the point guard rhymes.
The Trail Blazers star then blasts the Hall of Famer’s declining performance toward the end of his career and how he won a title on the back of Dwyane Wade in Miami. “Kind of like the Cavs ain’t really need Diesel ass/ Even in Miami, won that on the strength of Flash,” he raps.
Many believe Shaq was prompted to jab Lillard following Dame’s appearance on The Joe Budden Podcast earlier this summer, where he clowned Shaq’s music career and said he was a better emcee than the well-traveled Laker great. Dame kept his pen sharp with the release of his Big D.O.L.L.A. album in August.
