At a New York City show this May, Santigold promised a new album out in 2015. Today, we’re one step closer, as the genre-blending pop singer premiered a new song called “Radio,” her first new track in three years.
“I’mma run up on the radio,” Santi White wails on this dancehall-flavored electropop song, which fits in neatly with work up till now — 2008’s Santogold and 2012’s Master of My Make-Believe.
But “Radio” isn’t being introduced as a sample of a new Santigold album; it’s actually the opening song on the soundtrack of the film Paper Towns, which stars Nat Wolff and Cara Delevingne and hits theaters July 24. Out July 10, the compilation also features new music from Vance Joy, Grouplove, Kindness covering the Replacements and more.
