After signing a multi-year deal with Rostrum Records in October, Rockie Fresh looks to be working toward finally releasing a new album in 2019. The Chicago native followed up “No Satisfaction” by reconnecting with Chris Brown to tap into his R&B persona for “Must Be,” which was released on Friday (Jan. 25).
On the track, the former MMG artist candidly admits to getting nervous when thinking about the certain love interest that he can’t seem to shake. “The way that you serving making me nervous/ Nobody gimme this feeling/ We don’t do dates ‘fore we can relate/ ‘Cause we just be smokin’ and chillin/ Know you been waitin’, gotta stay patient/ We’ll be on top in a minute,” he rhymes over the smooth Sean Momberger production.
Breezy handles the chorus duties by keeping the romancing theme going and delivering a melodic assist. “You must be lonely, you must be sad/ Keep hitting up my phone and asking where I’m at/ You be complicated, but still make me laugh/ She’s a real pain in the ass, but she still get the bag/ When I’m mad I still want her, with me,” Brown croons.
Fresh previously collaborated with C. Breezy back in 2016 after meeting him by pure chance out in Los Angeles on “Call Me When It’s Over.” The track served as a standout on the 27-year-old’s The Night I Went To… project.
