First-time Grammy nominee Ro James will usher in 2017 with another first: a headlining tour. James’ 25-city XIX Tour begins Feb. 3 in Portland, Oregon, and wraps March 11 in Memphis. Joining him for a special Valentine’s Day concert during the trek’s run will be singers Joe, Chrisette Michele and Vivian Greene.
James, who recently opened for Mary J. Blige and Maxwell on the pair’s King and Queen of Hearts Tour, earned his Grammy nod for best R&B performance for his No. 1 Adult R&B single “Permission.” The song is featured on the singer’s debut album Eldorado (ByStorm Entertainment/RCA Records) along with second single “Already Knew That.” A 2016 Soul Train Awards nominee for best new artist, James is also nominated for a 2017 NAACP Image Award for outstanding new artist.
