R.LUM.R’s long-awaited Surfacing album arrived on streaming services earlier Friday (Nov. 1). The project caps off what’s been a successful year for the 29-year-old, which included the release of his breakthrough single “How This Feels.”
“Surfacing is my proudest work to date. It took me almost two years, but now with Surfacing, a lot of these pressing thoughts I’ve had about my blackness, my version of masculinity, mental illness, healing, finding your own path, and more are finally dredged up from what seems like a bottom less ocean, and committed to wax,” he said in a statement.
The Florida-born artist is also plotting The Surfacing Tour to go with his major label debut, which will have him on a five-week trek across North America and mark his first as the headlining act. The tour kicks off in Nashville, Tenn. on Feb. 20 and will hit 26 cities in total through March.
