New York City-based artist Riz La Vie released his EP Keep. today and it’s a passionate, raw look into the artist’s soul.
From beginning to end, the project never loses momentum as Riz soulfully croons his way from track to track, with the standouts being “Stay” and “Old Young.” He successfully blends elements of hip-hop, electronic and soul and delivers each lyric with incredible energy.
Riz La Vie walked Billboard through the meaning of the tracks on the album, saying, “‘Powerlines’ is my ability to find positivity and positive energy no matter what. ‘Old Young’ are my experiences that kept me growing. ‘Ay Carumba’ is my ability to keep my identity no matter what I might try. ‘Nosebleed’ is keeping in touch with myself and with friends and family who might feel a bit alienated from me as I get ‘higher’ in this industry and with my life. ‘Stay’ is me keeping my cool and my chill through the hardest times of my life.”
Keep. follows Riz’s first project Found. which was released in February 2017. Get lost in the EP below.
