Rihanna is returning to New York Fashion Week. In a late-breaking announcement (fashion week starts in less than 2 weeks), the pop songstress announced Thursday (Aug. 23) that she will bring her lingerie line Savage x Fenty to Brooklyn on Sept. 12, showing the collection in a format being described as an “immersive experience.”
You don’t have to be a fashion editor to get in on the fun, either. The fall collection she’s showing will be available immediately after the event at SavageX.com and in a NYC pop-up shop, followed by a Mall of America pop-up in September and two additional cities in the fall.
The “S&M” singer — and reigning Met Gala fashion queen — debuted her size-inclusive lingerie collection in May. So far, styles have included bodysuits, corsets, rompers, jumpsuits, robes and accessories — we’re talking crops, handcuffs, satin restraints, eye masks and garters for “bad gal RiRi.”
Rihanna also has a thriving Fenty beauty business, which in its first month in January sold five times as much as Kylie Cosmetics.
It’s going to be a busy week for Rihanna in the Big Apple. On Sept. 13, she’s holding her 4th annual Diamond Ball, hosted by Issa Rae, with a performance by Childish Gambino. The ball is a fundraiser for the Clara Lionel Foundation, which Rihanna founded in honor of her grandparents, to improve health, education, arts and culture in impoverished communities around the world.
