UPDATE 5/2: A rep for Rick Ross strongly denies reports that the rapper had a seizure in New York City prior to his April 23 performance, saying there were “no health issues at all” with Ross during the NYC trip.
Rick Ross reportedly suffered another seizure before his performance at New York City’s B.B. Kings venue, according to Page Six.
Prior to getting on stage last Monday (April 23), Ross had “trouble breathing” backstage, sources told the outlet. To help lessen his struggles, Ross’ team reportedly called on a masseuse to relive the tension he was undergoing and soothe him. After receiving treatment for about an hour, Ross was good to go and performed later on that night.
Last March, Ross was rushed to the hospital after being found unresponsive at his Florida home. A friend who was with the 42-year-old MC at the time said that he was “slobbing from the mouth” and breathing heavily the night before. Days later, Ross was released from the hospital after reports claimed that pneumonia was the cause for his scare.
On the music front, Ross is currently doling out his 10th album, Port of Miami 2: Born to Kill, which is yet without a release date.
Billboard has reached out to Ross’ reps for comment.
