A new show is joining the Revolt programming lineup — Global Spin Presents: Respect the DJ. Premiering May 5 (7 p.m. ET; encore at 10 p.m. ET), the monthly series will take viewers inside the professional and personal lives of some of the music industry’s top-flight DJs.
DJ Envy, host of Power 105 New York’s The Breakfast Club, will be the focus of the first 30-minute episode of Global Spin Presents: Respect the DJ. With cameras following him over a 48-hour period, DJ Envy provides an intimate look at how he balances his morning show duties in tune with his DJ work and family life. As Revolt notes in its announcement release, the series “will reveal to viewers the influence and impact the modern day DJ has on music and culture.”
Global Spin Presents: Respect the DJ will also double as a precursor to the annual Global Spin Awards, which honor the top DJs in the music and entertainment industries. The awards show, presented by Global Spin Brand, is currently celebrating its fifth anniversary.
