Close to a year after releasing her debut album, “The Idea of Beautiful,” Rapsody readies her fifth mixtape, “She Got Game,” due August 20.
In anticipation for her Gangsta Grillz mixtape, hosted by DJ Drama, Rapsody is premiering the Wale-assisted, “Dark Knights,” here on the Juice.
The E. Jones-produced cut features Rapsody, inspired by the ‘Dark Knight’ storyline, spitting word play of triumph over struggles (“Where the wind take me, money will never make me/ No matter where I go, so money’ll never break me”) and throwing in a Jay-Z reference (“I’ve been cold as Jay on ‘3 Kings'”).
Besides Wale, “She Got Game” will also feature a number of guest appearances including Common, Raekwon, Mac Miller, Chance The Rapper, Ab-Soul, Nipsey Hussle, Styles P, Raheem DeVaughn, Gwen Bunn, Mela Machinko, Problem, Jared Evan, and production from 9th Wonder, Denaun Porter, and The Soul Council.
“She Got Game” is one of three of Jamla Records’ (under It’s A Wonderful World Music Group) 2013 releases, which also includes GQ’s “Death Threats & Love Notes” and Big Remo’s upcoming, “Hero.”
