Senator Tim Kaine had a surprise guest during the Florida Democrats Block Party on Saturday in Miami. Rapper and G.O.O.D. Music president Pusha T served as co-host of the event alongside Hillary Clinton’s running mate.
“The stakes are high, for Miami especially, Florida especially,” said Pusha T, urging the crowd of residents and elected officials like Congresswoman Frederica Wilson and Miami City Commissioner Keon Hardemon to vote for the Democratic Party at next month’s election. “When we do actually get into those polls, we need to think about what’s important to us, what’s important for the community. And we need to pick Clinton and Kaine.”
Pusha T also interviewed Senator Kaine, a fellow Virginia native, addressing key topics surrounding the election, including young people voting, systemic racism, common sense gun laws, criminal justice, education, health care and police brutality.
This wouldn’t mark the first political alliance for Pusha T, who recently teamed with Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton in July, even releasing the “Delete Your Account” shirts referencing Clinton’s message to her opponent, Republican nominee Donald Trump.
