Despite the darkness that envelops Pusha T‘s forthcoming albums, the rapper is shining. As president of G.O.O.D. Music and an Adidas collaborator, the Virginia MC continues to bulk up his CV as actor in the upcoming short film Darkest Before Dawn. The Kid Art presentation will accompany Pusha’s album of the same name (due Dec. 18) and will debut at Miami’s Art Basel next week.
King Push recently told Billboard that the mini-movie wouldn’t be a horror show but rather, a representation of his mindset while recording the project.
“I was in a bit of an aggressive mind state [while recording the album] simply because I sort of feel like the last rap superhero,” he said.
In the Darkest Before Dawn trailer, Pusha Ton plays a “new King, who faces trials and tribulations on his climb to the top,” according to Complex. Singer/actor Rotimi also stars. Press play below.
