Prince is in a giveth and taketh away kind of mood.
The Purple One has shared a new song, “HARDROCKLOVER,” on the same day he pulled all his music from streaming services (except for TIDAL).
Prince’s dreamy rock song, which is posted at his SoundCloud page, follows the released in May of “Baltimore,” a tribute song to the city following the death of Freddie Gray.
Prince released two albums in 2014 — the solo set Art Official Age and Plectrumelectrum, which he recorded with 3rdEyeGirl. Both went to No. 1 on dual Billboard charts. The R&B icon and notable Luddite then yanked the social media accounts that his team had set up to help promote the sets.
Prince’s mysterious Hit N Run Tour has popped up in various cities in recent months. He recently played for President Obama, though details on his set have been hard to come by.
