Pro Era’s co-founder Powers Pleasant has played the background for years, DJing and churning out slick productions for his fellow Pro Era founder Joey Bada$$ and several other artists. So for Powers Pleasant’s debut single “Pull Up,” the producer called upon Bada$$ and A$AP Ferg to add their distinct New York styles to the anthemic cut.
After teasing the song on his socials, Pleasant unveiled his debut single in a video game-style lyric video. Bada$$ delivers the catchy chorus before launching into his verse, dishing out lines about his lavish jewelry pieces and flexing on his haters. “Hopped in the Porsche, hit the bright high beams/ Think about when they tried to kill my dreams/ Now the only time they see me, I be on the big screen/ Hit a big score, now we doing big tings,” he raps.
Next up, Harlem spitfire A$AP Ferg enters and blends his aggressive rap flow with a bit of singing, as he spits about driving “exotic” cars and wearing designer clothes.
Pleasant is readying his upcoming debut project, which he says features Bada$$, Flatbush Zombies and Denzel Curry. Listen to “Pull Up” below.
