Even though Post Malone released a bevy of hit singles including “Congratulations,” “Too Young” and his Billboard Hot-100 chart-topper, “rockstar” featuring 21 Savage, the Stoney artist still isn’t convinced that those records outclass his debut track “White Iverson.”
In a new interview with Nardwuar, Posty explained how he used to perform “White Iverson” twice at concerts because he thought he lacked any other strong songs on his resume. “I used to get a lot of shit for it,” said Post about doubling up on the Allen Iverson-inspired record during shows. “You gotta understand I had like three songs out. I only had one good song. I still only have one good song, but I had to do it first and I had to do it last ‘cause no one knew who the hell I was.”
For Malone, his artistry has quickly appealed to a myriad of fans. His debut album Stoney is currently double platinum and so far in his young career, the burgeoning star notched four Top 20 records on the Hot 100. With Beerbongs and Bentleys on the horizon, Posty might be saving his best work for album number two.
