Tracking down Frank Ocean is almost like attempting to locate a mythical figure. Frank does a great job of keeping himself out of the public eye, so fans rarely have any inkling as to what he could be up to on a day-to-day basis. During an appearance on The Cruz Show uploaded on Tuesday (July 31), Playboi Carti revealed that he recently met up with the Blonde artist at an NYC studio to record last month.
“Frank Ocean, he’s the GOAT,” Carti says. “Last time I worked with him was in New York about a month ago. We did like five songs. You know, it’s Frank so he move how he moves. [The songs are] with [Frank].”
Cash Carti also told Genius in 2017 that he was in the studio when Frank made Carti’s favorite song to date with “Nights.” He also spoke to The Fader last year about an eye-opening studio session with Ocean. “That man was doing everything in the studio. He really works with instruments and shit. It’s crazy. He really showed me a new type of style and shit,” he said.
Meanwhile, Carti told Bootleg Kev over at L.A.’s 92.3 earlier this week that he has over “100” songs in the vault with Lil Uzi Vert. “We been recording since like 2015. We know what we’re capable of,” the Atlanta native relayed.
