Hand it to Pitbull for getting the (hopefully) last word on the controversy surrounding Jay-Z and Beyonce’s vacation to Cuba earlier this month.

The Cuban-American artist has dropped a freestyle rap that adopts Jay’s backing track for his “Open Letter.” In it, Pitbull touches on key moments in the two countries’ tense relations, including the Russian missile crisis, Elian Gonzalez getting “snatched back” and the Bay of Pigs invasion.
“Politicians love to hate you/ But then run away when it’s time to debate you,” he raps in the song posted online Sunday (April 14). “Question of the night, would they have messed with Mr. Carter if he was white?”
The rapper takes a dig (“Hm, rhyme with treasury”) at last week’s White House press briefing in which Politico reporter Donovan Slack asked White House Press Secretary Jay Carney whether President Obama gave Jay-Z and Beyoncé clearance for their travel, based off a lyric from the original song.
Pitbull closes his “Open Letter” with an anniversary wish to Jay-Z and Beyoncé: “Happy 5th year anniversary/ Jay and B, don’t worry it’s on me.”
