The opening night of next week’s OVO Fest in Toronto has been cancelled due to the vocal problems of its headliner, Frank Ocean, Live Nation announced on Tuesday. Ocean, who suffered a tear on his vocal cord last week, resulting in the cancellation of an Australian tour, was to perform on Aug. 4 at the Molson Canadian Amphitheatre in Canada’s largest city.

Frank Ocean Scraps Australian Tour
James Blake, who was to perform on the same bill as Ocean, will instead be added to the sold-out Aug. 5 show alongside Drake and Wale. Tickets for the opening night will be refunded.
Ocean’s vocal condition emerged on July 25 in Melbourne on the opening night of his inaugural Australian tour. The Grammy winner freely admitted during the show that he was having issues. “I’m sick… I don’t know if you care,” he reportedly said during a run of “Forrest Gump,” off his acclaimed debut “Channel Orange.”
A trip to the doctors revealed he had a “small tear” on one of his vocal cords and the singer was ordered to rest his voice. Subsequent tour dates, including a planned appearance at Splendour in the Grass, were nixed.
