Ol’ Dirty Bastard’s son is looking to honor his late father’s legacy by fulfilling a lifelong dream. TMZ reported on Wednesday (Nov. 20) that Young Dirty Bastard is getting into the beer industry with his own honey ale called Young Dirty Brew. The announcement comes on the heels of the 15th anniversary of ODB’s death (Nov. 13).
Young DB’s rep, Ms. Artistry, says he put $60,000 into the company to make the business a reality with Circa Brewing. “I had a dream. When I was a baby, I saw my father drinking Olde English. By the time I was 9-years-old, I caught a little Olde English,” he recalled. He left it there sitting, I tasted it and I got an idea, ‘I’m gonna come out with my own drink, Young Dirty Brew.'”
After six months of perfecting the honey ale’s formula in Brooklyn, Young Dirty Brew will hit select New York liquor stores, bars and online retailers on New Year’s Eve (Dec. 31).
